Clap to turn ON/OFF lights!! Using Arduino



This post shows how to trigger your lights or electrical appliance  ON or OFF with the sound of clap using Arduino.

 

The Microphone Sensor

The microphone sensor detects the intensity of the sound or detects how loud the sound is.




KY-038 and LM393 microphone sensor in their respective position.

Rotate the potentiometer clockwise or counterclockwise to set the microphone sensitivity respectively.

Parts Needed

You need to have the following parts

  • Arduino (Any version)
  • 1x Microphone sound sensor
  • 1x One-Channel Relay module 5V
  • Jumper Wires
  • Light Lamp

Wiring Microphone Sensor

Pin Wiring LM393 to Arduino
OUT Digital Pin – 4
GND GND
VCC 5V

 

Wiring Relay

Pin Wiring relay to the Arduino
S DIgital Pin – 5
GND
+ 5V

 

Schematics For Arduino

Assemble all the parts by following the schematics below:


Connect the light lamp to the relay.


Coding Arduino

  • Upload the code to the Arduino.
